The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs held Polish-Palestinian political consultations in Ramallah and met with Polish aid operators
On 7th of June Mr Paweł Jabłoński Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held political consultations in Palestine with his counterpart Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mrs Amal Jadou. During the meeting at the Palestinian Ministry in Ramallah, Polish-Palestinian bilateral cooperation, issues of developing economic cooperation and the current situation of the Middle East peace process with a particular focus on the security situation in Palestine and the wider region were discussed. The conversation also touched on global security issues, including Russia's aggression against Ukraine and its broad implications for both Europe and the Middle East. Poland unequivocally supports solutions based on United Nations resolutions, advocates adherence to international law, opposes any unilateral action and condemns violence especially against civilians.
At the end of his visit to the headquarters of the Palestinian diplomacy, Minister Paweł Jabłoński also met with a group of young Palestinian diplomats who will soon begin specialised training at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw.
During his stay in Ramallah, Minister Paweł Jabłoński also met with the management and staff of the PMRS (Palestinian Medical Relief Society), a non-governmental organisation which, together with the Polish development aid operator PCPM (Polish Centre for International Aid), is implementing a three-year specialised medical development project financed by Polish Aid, which has already benefited 65,000 patients in the West Bank. The PMRS mobile clinic teams receive patients in the most isolated villages in the governorates of Jenin and Hebron. In each of these hard-to-reach locations, patients can receive services from a general practitioner and a gynaecologist. There are also screenings for civilisation diseases, as well as sessions to broaden the health awareness of local residents and meetings of volunteer groups, who will conduct first aid training in local communities as part of the project in 2023.
Minister Paweł Jabłoński also visited the Polish diplomatic mission in Ramallah, where he met with our team.
On the sidelines of the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister's visit to Palestine, working meetings were also held between senior representatives of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNRWA and WBPC, as well as at the Polish House of Peace in Bethlehem.
