Visit of Ambassador Maciej Lang in Maramures County

On June 21st - 23rd, 2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Romania, Maciej Lang, paid an official visit to Maramures County.
The Ambassador paid homage to the victims of the communist regime who died in the prison in Sighetu Marmației and laid flowers under a commemorative plaque dedicated to Polish legionnaires who died in the Battle of Berbești in 1914.
On June 22nd, in Baia Mare, the delegation met with representatives of local authorities: Ionel Bogdan - President of Maramures County Council, Vlad Durus - Prefect of Maramures County and Catalin Chereches - Mayor of Baia Mare. During the meeting, the participants discussed about the areas of cooperation, including cooperation in the Carpathian region, tourism promotion and cultural projects.
On the same day, Ambassador Maciej Lang visited the modern factory of Blachotrapez, a producer of roofing materials located in Baia Mare.
On June 23rd, the Ambassador participated in the wreath laying ceremony at the tombstone of the Polish legionnaires in the village of Barbești.
