Visit of Ambassador Maciej Lang in Suceava County

On June 10th - 13th, 2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Romania, Maciej Lang, paid an official visit to Suceava County.

On June 11th, in Suceava, the delegation met with representatives of local authorities: George Flutur - President of Suceava County Council, Iulian Cimpoescu - Prefect of Suceava County and Lucian Harsovschi - Deputy Mayor of Suceava. During the meeting, the participants discussed about the existing areas of cooperation and new fields for cooperation, including cross-border cooperation in the Carpathian region, tourism promotion and cultural projects.

On June 12th, the Ambassador participated in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the renovated monument of Polish legionnaires in Cârlibaba.

On June 12th, in the evening, the Ambassador, together with Jarosław Szkirpan, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Romania, met with the Polish community at the Polish House in Soloneţu Nou. The meeting was hosted by the President of the Union of Poles of Romania, Ghervazen ​​Longher. After the traditional welcome with bread and salt, there was a performance by the Polish youth group Sołonczanka.

On Sunday, June 13th, the delegation met with the Polish diaspora from Poiana Miculi. The Visit to Polish villages in Bucovina were accompanied by a delegation of soldiers from Polish Military Contingent stationed in Craiova and a presentation of military vehicles - which was a great attraction, especially for the youngest.

Ambassador Maciej Lang also visited the former royal hunting palace in Bicaz, where President Ignacy Mościcki stayed as a refugee in 1939, and laid flowers at the memorial plaque.
