Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Riyadh

During the first visit by a Polish Head of Government to Saudi Arabia in 11 years, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman

7 March 2023 marked the first visit by a Polish head of government to Saudi Arabia in 11 years. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Riyadh, where he was received by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, as well as by the staff of the Polish Embassy in Riyadh headed by Ambassador Robert Rostek.

The Prime Minister also had the opportunity to visit the historic town of Dirijja, where he saw an exhibition on the city of the future, NEOM, being built in the northern part of the country.

Head of Polish Government Mateusz Morawiecki had a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salmad ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the Ministers of Energy, Trade, Foreign Affairs, Transport, Economy, other members of the government and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Poland, Saad Saleh Al-Saleh.

After the official talks and dinner, the Prime Minister briefed the journalists gathered in the residence of the Polish Ambassador on the results of the visit. "Poland is diversifying its oil supplies from all over the world and for us Saudi Arabia is becoming an increasingly important partner" - emphasised the Head of the Polish Government. The Prime Minister added that common interests include: energy cooperation, Polish food and arms exports, cooperation in the field of new technologies (including smart cities) and investments, and debunking the Russian propaganda. In the context of the war in Ukraine, the Prime Minister thanked Saudi Arabia for its commitment to helping Ukraine and refugees, also referring to the recent visit of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to Kiev.

During his visit to Riyadh, Head of the Polish Government also met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Anatoly Petrenko.
