Certificate entitling Polish citizens to import arms and ammunition for their own needs from abroad
Where to apply?
You will obtain the certificate at the Polish consular post competent for your place of residence.
Please note, that the citizens of the EU Member States who hold the European firearms pass, are not obliged to hold this certificate.
Do I have to apply in person?
You can submit the documents personally or through an authorised representative.

What documents do I need to submit?
Please prepare:
- valid passport or personal ID,
- proof of purchase of the weapon,
- weapon registration card,
- information on the amount of ammunition, the kind and model of cartridge,
- firearms licence, if you have one.
Please note! If you do not have a firearms licence - you are required to deposit your weapon with a competent customs authority and apply to a competent police authority for a firearms licence within 14 days of the import date of the weapon into Poland. The person who deposits weapon and ammunition bears any costs related to the deposit.
Please note! Polish citizens permanently residing abroad who import weapons for their own purposes are required, upon crossing the border, to report in writing the import of weapons and ammunition to a competent customs authority. The forms are available at the competent customs office and enable precise identification of any item of weapon and the importer. The customs authority is obliged to immediately pass the information to the competent police authority.
Please, inform the consul on the intended date of import.
How much does it cost?
The certificate fee is SGD86.
What is the waiting time?
Consul issues the certificates without undue delay, not later than 14 days from the filing date.
How to collect the documents?
Personally. You can also apply to have the documents delivered by mail if you pay the postage.
How to appeal?
If the certificate is refused, the consul will issue a decision. You can appeal to the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. The appeal is lodged through the consul who had issued the decision.
