11.12.2020Poljski diplomat Jan Karski je leta 1942 zahodnim zaveznikom posredoval podatke o iztrebljanju Judov.Jan Kozielewski (s psevdonimom Jan Karski) se je rodil leta 1914 v Lodžu, večkulturnem mestu na Poljskem, kjer je živela tudi velika judovska skupnost. Odraščal je v katoliški družini kot najmlajši izmed osmih otrok. Doštudiral je pravo in diplomacijo na Univerzi v Lvovu ter Šolo za častnike v Wołynu. Pred izbruhom druge svetovne vojne je začel z diplomatsko kariero na Ministrstvu za zunanje zadeve.

09.12.2020Obletnica diplomatske note ministra Raczyńskega s pozivom o prekinitvi zločinov nad judovskim prebivalstvom10. decembra 1942 se je Vlada Republike Poljske v izgnanstvu obrnila na države podpisnice deklaracije Združenih narodov s pozivom o prekinitvi zločinov nad judovskim prebivalstvom, do katerih je prihajalo na ozemlju Poljske pod nemško okupacijo. Ministrstvo za zunanje zadeve predstavlja podobo izvirnika note, ki ga hrani britanski Narodni arhiv, ter vsebino brošure, naslovljene "The Mass Extermination of Jews in German Occupied Poland" ("Množično iztrebljanje Judov na Poljskem pod nemško okupacijo").
