Inauguration of Polish Heritage Days in Finland
28.04.2023
To inaugurate the Polish Heritage Days in Finland, Finnish Minister of Culture Petri Honkonen and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Piotr Rychlik visited the exhibition of Polish sculptor Radosław Gryta at the Saarijärvi Museum.
The artist, who has been working and creating art in Finland for over 40 years, is a perfect example of Polish-Finnish artistic cooperation. His career is strongly associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, where for many years he served as dean of the sculpture department. He is still working as a professor at this university. His works are on display in Finnish museums, like Helsinki Art Museum and are part of art collections of cities of Pori and Kokkola. They also make substantial part of the Tuulensuu Sculpture Park exhibition. The latest work of art, "The Black Granite Poem" was unveiled at the Saarijärvi School and Cultural Center in June 2021.
As part of the Polish Heritage Days, we strive to promote Polish contribution to the cultural and social life of Finland.
