The International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious piano competitions in the world. It has been a part of world and Polish musical scene since almost 100 years as the first Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw took place in 1927. Apart from its huge role in popularising Chopin's music, it discovers the greatest pianistic talents, providing young musicians with the most effective start in their international career. This outstanding competition is devoted entirely to the output of only one composer, greatest Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin.

Its 18th edition will take place on 2–23 October 2021 in Warsaw. We will listen to performances by 87 pianists from 18 countries including virtuoso San Jittakarn from Thailand.

18th Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is broadcast online in 4K via Chopin Competition app (iOS, Android), and at Chopin Institute channel on YouTube and in Smart TV app for Samsung TVs.

We encourage you to watch the Fryderyk Chopin Institute’s spot, ‘Talent is just the beginning’ which briefly describes the journey of a young pianist preparing for the performance on the stage of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
