Celebrations of Polish Independence Day and 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailand

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok organized a piano concert by the talented Polish pianist Viet Trung Nguyen to celebrate the National Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailand.

Polish pianist Viet Trung Nguyen, the participant of the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, impressed the numerous audience with his great interpretations of Chopin's masterpieces. Maestro began his recital with national anthems: Thai and Polish. To show the solidarity with Ukraine, a piece by the Ukrainian composer Valentyn Silvestrov - 3 Bagatele op. 1 was performed.

The chief guest of the anniversary celebrations was the Privy Counselor, Mr. Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya with spouse.

The guests were welcomed by Ambassador Waldemar Dubaniowski. In his speech, Ambassador emphasized the importance of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailand, the long lasting bilateral relations, economic ties as well as cultural and interpersonal relations. The Ambassador stressed that Poland, currently considered the world's largest humanitarian NGO, welcomed and accommodated over 3 million refugees from Ukraine. The Ukrainian flag was also displayed on the stage as a special symbol of solidarity.

The concert took place at the prestigious location, Music Hall at Chulalongkorn University, on 21 November.

The guests were handed unique occasional envelopes with stamps commemorating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Thailand, created as a result of Polish-Thai cooperation.

The partners of the events were Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok Chopin Society and Yamaha Music School, to which we express our sincere thanks.
