29.07.2022New rates of fees for documents issued to foreignersFrom 29 July 2022, new fees for issuing or replacing a residence card, a Polish travel document issued to a foreigner, a Polish identity document issued to a foreigner and a ‘permit for tolerated stay’ document apply. The updated rates take into account the current costs of purchasing and maintaining biometric capture stations, as well as purchasing and personalising blank documents.

14.07.2022Extension of validity of national visas by law for Ukrainian citizens, including students – reminderSpecial Act on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine provides, inter alia, for the extension by law of the validity of national visas until 31 December 2022 in the event that the last day of the period of stay of a citizen of Ukraine in Poland on the basis of a national visa falls within the period from 24 February 2022. Ukrainian citizens may also benefit from an extension of their national visas on a general basis – under special legislation adopted to alleviate for foreign nationals the effects of the SARS-Cov-2 epidemic.

07.07.2022New temporary residence permit for Belarusians holding humanitarian visasAs of 9 July this year, an easier procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit for Belarusian citizens residing in Poland on the basis of so-called humanitarian visas will come into force. The possibility of a simplified legalisation of stay is another manifestation of Poland's special support for the Belarusian citizens, who have been experiencing repression in their country since August 2020.

22.06.2022Support groups for foreign parents in the refugee procedureFundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę as a partner of the project "We protect children, including unaccompanied children seeking asylum, against violence" runs support groups for foreign parents. The initiative is aimed at people using the social assistance provided by the office in the form of a cash benefit to cover their own costs of stay in the territory of Poland.

02.06.2022Invitation to the information SaturdayThe Office for Foreigners starts a series of meetings aimed at providing information on the legalization of stay, international and temporary protection. The first information Saturday will be held on June 11 from 9 - 15 at the seat of the office in Warsaw at Taborowa 33.

13.05.2022Additional places for issuing temporary protection certificatesPoznań (May 17-18), Gdańsk (May 19), Kraków (May 19-20), Wrocław (May 26) - these are the cities where it will be possible to obtain a certificate of using temporary protection. Moreover, the document can be obtained without any changes at the seat of the office in Warsaw and Biała Podlaska.

22.04.2022Completion of the extended period of social assistanceArticle 15z8 of the Act of March 2nd of 2020 on the special measures introduced to prevent, counteract and combat COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations was repealed on April 15th of 2022. This regulation extends the time limit for the provision of social assistance and medical care, despite the conclusion of the international protection proceedings by a final decision.

11.04.2022New hotline number for the officeFrom April 12 this year. telephone information on matters conducted at the Office for Foreigners can be obtained by calling: 47 721 76 75. It will be open on working days between 9.00-15.00. The helpline for Ukrainian citizens and persons under temporary protection works unchanged under the current number: 47 721 75 75.

01.04.2022Temporary protection - on-line registration for foreigners who are not citizens of UkraineForeigners who have arrived in Poland from Ukraine since February 24 this year and meet certain conditions may be granted temporary protection. The confirmation of using temporary protection is a certificate issued by the Office for Foreigners. The document can be obtained at the seat of the office in Warsaw and Biała Podlaska or by registering on-line in order to apply for a certificate.
