The development of cooperation between the countries in agricultural matters was discussed by the Secretary of State Stefan Krajewski with the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Rania Al-Mashat.

At the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, a meeting of the Polish-French Joint Committee on Agriculture was held. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Bogusław Wijatyk, Director General of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of France, Philippe Duclaud, as well as substantive experts from both Ministries. Since on 1 January 2025 Poland takes the presidency of the Council of the EU, the experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development presented the plans and priorities of the Polish Presidency.

Further talks were held between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski and the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval. Yesterday’s online meeting was also attended by the representatives of industry organisations from both countries. Minister Siekierski was accompanied by the Secretary of State Michał Kołodziejczak and Director General Bogusław Wijatyk.

The Common Agricultural Policy post-2027 focused on farmers and future opportunities in the field of bio-economy are the major topics of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) meeting in the part on agriculture. In the field of fisheries, a political agreement on fishing opportunities in the Atlantic, North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea has been foreseen for 2025, and in the case of some species also for 2026. The Polish delegation was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski.

– One of the priorities of our activities is to open up new foreign markets for Polish meat and meat products. In recent years, our efforts have resulted in success, inter alia, in the form of opening the following markets for this product range: Philippine, Vietnamese and Singapore, as well as in progress in negotiations on the opening of the Chinese and Korean markets – said the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak during the conference “Polish meat industry in the competition for Asia: Will we take advantage of the chances of success?” The Secretary of State was accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Bogusław Wijatyk.

The conditions for conducting trade in agri-food goods between Poland and Ukraine, following the future expiry of the EU trade preferences (ATM) that have been applicable for 3 years, were one of the important topics of today’s talks between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski and the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval. The Minister was accompanied by the General Director of the Ministry Bogusław Wijatyk.

– We are diverse but we form unity – stressed the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski after today’s talks within the Trio Presidency.

On 25-29 November 2024 in Vietnam, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak attended the meetings with the representatives of the management of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The major objective of the visit was to talk about the intensification of Polish export of agri-food products, as part of the third meeting of the Polish-Vietnamese working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture.

Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski hosted the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of France Annie Genevard at the seat of the Ministry. The meeting was also attended by: the Secretaries of state Michał Kołodziejczak and Stefan Krajewski, Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak and Director General Bogusław Wijatyk.

Yesterday, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak welcomed a delegation of entrepreneurs from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), the General Veterinary Inspectorate (GVI) and the President of the Polish-Saudi Business Council. The talks conducted are another step toward the development of Polish export.
