14.11.2024

Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak attended the meeting opening the audit of the inspectors from the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas of the People’s Republic of China. This is another measure taken to resume the export of Polish poultry meat to China. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Veterinary Officer Krzysztof Jażdżewski.

Objective of the audit

The objective of the inspection is to verify the application in Poland of the regionalisation principle with regard to poultry diseases (avian influenza HPAI, Newcastle disease ND). The audit will last until 19 November.

In addition to the meetings at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Chinese delegation’s visit programme will include, inter alia, meetings at the local branches of veterinary inspection, the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) in Puławy, poultry establishments and poultry farms.

We hope for the positive results of the inspection

Deputy Minister Czerniak stressed that the Polish party attached great importance to the positive effects of the audit and further measures to resume the export of Polish poultry meat to China, on the basis of regionalisation with regard to poultry diseases.

– Our existing cooperation with Chinese partners has been excellent. I hope that your stay in Poland will be fruitful. We are ready to provide all information regarding the application of regionalisation in our country – said Deputy Minister Jacek Czerniak.

Trade in agri-food products

China is a very important partner of Poland in agri-food trade. In 2023, our export to that country reached a value of EUR 147.6 million. Currently, Polish milk and milk products, down and feathers and frozen fruit enjoy the greatest interest in the Chinese market.
