Polish-Ukrainian talks

During yesterday’s talk with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval informed that currently trade in Ukrainian cereals and oilseeds had largely returned to traditional export routes leading through the Black Sea.

The video conversation was also attended by: Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Bogusław Wijatyk and representatives of the substantive departments of the Ministry. Previous talks between the heads of the Ministries of Agriculture of Poland and Ukraine were held in Warsaw on 3 October 2024.

The need for dialogue

The Ministers reaffirmed the need to continue the dialogue. They also pointed to the importance of mutual exchange of information and ongoing monitoring of the situation in the agricultural markets of both countries.

They agreed that they would continue the talks on the occasion of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) meeting in Brussels on 18 November 2024, in which Minister Vitaliy Koval is also to participate. In December, a meeting of the Ministers with the participation of representatives of industry organisations from Poland and Ukraine is planned to be held.
