23.05.2022
On 23 May, Undersecretary of State at the MFA Paweł Jabłoński took part in an inauguration of the Three Seas House in Davos, opened for the first time in the history of the World Economic Forum.
The panel on “The Geopolitical Opportunity and Urgency of the Three Seas Initiative” discussed Russia’s attack against Ukraine as well as cooperation under the Three Seas Initiative and prospects for the format’s further development.
“The Three Seas Initiative can play an important part in Ukraine’s post-war recovery by reinforcing the country’s integration with the EU’s infrastructural and energy networks,” the deputy foreign minister observed. The undersecretary of state highlighted the potential of closer cooperation among the Three Seas Initiative member states in new, future-oriented areas, such as cybersecurity, 5G networks, or more joint action on energy and transport. Minister Jabłoński made a point that the current geopolitical situation has increased the need to work ever closer with countries neighbouring the Three Seas region.
While in Davos, the deputy foreign minister participated in the official presentation of the Kościuszko Institute report on “Three Seas United in Cyber Power”. During his address, the minister observed that the Three Seas Initiative should enhance cooperation in the area of cybersecurity and that our region has the potential to become a global supplier of proven and secure solutions for digital security. He also brought up the matter of a closer interaction required between business and administration in this respect.
