26.11.2021
We cannot let the scenario written in Minsk unfold. Lithuania and Poland defend the European Union’s eastern border together and seek to elicit a joint response of Europe and the world to the threat created by the Belarusian regime,” emphasised the deputy chief of Polish diplomacy during his talks with the Lithuanian partners.
On 25-26 November 2021, Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk went on a visit to Vilnius. Together with Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Science Tomasz Rzymkowski, they took part in consultations with Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania Jurgita Šiugždinienė, during which the officials discussed the principles of the reform of Lithuania’s school network organisation. The reform provides for a special treatment of schools teaching in Polish.
During the visit, a regulation of the minister of education, science and sport of the Republic of Lithuania was signed, according to which the secondary school-leaving exam in Polish will become an obligatory state exam.
Furthermore, the deputy minister met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis. He also learned about the progress of work on the extension of the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius.
