Governors of border areas have started to pay out compensation

“The governors of the border areas have started to pay out compensation. Payments are made in accordance with procedures, there are no delays in this matter. We will not leave entrepreneurs without state aid. All those who have applied according to the rules will receive compensation by the end of next week,” said Deputy Minister Paweł Szefernaker today (17 November).

The Podlaskie Voivodeship Office received a total of 100 applications for compensation, while the Lubelskie Voivodeship Office received 39 such applications. Entrepreneurs are entitled to compensation in connection with the introduction of a state of emergency on the territory of part of the Podlaskie and part of the Lubelskie voivodeship.

In the Podlaskie voivodeship, 55 decisions granting compensation to entrepreneurs have already been issued, in the Lubelskie voivodeship – 16 decisions. They were mainly granted to entities operating in tourism, hotel and catering industry. In both voivodeships, the governors began to pay out the funds on Tuesday (16 November).

The act on compensation for entrepreneurs in connection with the introduction of a state of emergency in parts of the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodeships came into force on 4 October 2021. According to the act, a voivodeship governor has 14 days to examine an application and 30 days to pay the compensation.

Due to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, the state of emergency was introduced in parts of the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodeships. The compensation was set at 65% of the applicant's average monthly income from services or activities in the period covering June, July and August 2021.
