Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki holds a meeting with representatives of all parliamentary clubs and groups

29.11.2021

The meeting of representatives of all Polish parliamentary clubs and groups, held on the initiative of PM Mateusz Morawiecki, focused on the current difficult geopolitical situation. Among the major threats indicated were actions taken by the Lukashenko regime, which put the Polish-Belarusian border of the EU at risk, as well as actions aimed at destabilising the situation in Ukraine and energy issues – e.g. manipulating energy deliveries and gas prices.

We need unity in the face of the crisis

Held in an atmosphere of full understanding of the situation’s gravity, the meeting involved presenting information on the current situation, including data provided by NATO partners. The discussion with the parliamentary club and group representatives proved constructive.

“We essentially share each other’s views as to the genuine risks coming from the East, be it in terms of energy issues, organising migration movements, cyber activity, disinformation actions or actions destabilising the political situation within the European Union”, said Piotr Müller, the government spokesman.

Foreign partners show solidarity with Poland

In a series of meetings held in the last several days, PM Mateusz Morawiecki also informed prime ministers and presidents of other countries about the border situation. Poland has the support of its allies in NATO and the European Union. Furthermore, representatives of the Polish opposition also declared that they would take steps to increase awareness of the current situation at the Polish-Belarusian border of the EU.
