29th OSCE Ministerial Council in Łódź comes to an end
02.12.2022
The 29th OSCE Ministerial Council, summarising Poland’s Chairmanship of the Organization, has now come to an end.
Plenary sessions and side events have brought together delegations from 57 OSCE participating States and partner countries and international organisations, as well as representatives of civil society organisations.
During a two-day meeting in the EC1 complex in Łódź, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau outlined the achievements of the Polish Chairmanship, which coincided with the biggest crisis in the Organization’s history, caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. He drew particular attention to maintaining the OSCE’s presence in Ukraine despite Russia’s opposition and to the continued support provided by the Polish Chairmanship to Ukraine.
Poland will officially hold the OSCE Chairmanship until the end of 2022, after which it will be succeeded by North Macedonia. Poland will continue to participate in the OSCE Troika format, which has been contributed to by the previous, current and incoming Chairmanships.
