Anna Sochańska becomes Polish Ambassador to Ireland

On behalf of the Polish President, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has presented Anna Sochańska with her nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ireland today.
Anna Sochańska studied at the Social Prevention and Resocialization Faculty of the University of Warsaw. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Warsaw University’s Centre for Europe (1992) and at the College of Europe in Bruges (1993-1994).
In 1991-1994 she worked in the Ministry of Health and Social Care, and then in the Prime Minister’s Office (1994-1995). She began her career in the foreign service in 1995 in the European Information Department, and then in the European Union Department (1998-2001). Between 2001-2006 she was posted at the Polish Embassy in London as a counsellor for political affairs. After the posting she returned to the European Union Department. In 2010 she joined the European Policy Department, where she was deputy director and then director from 2018 to 2019.
