Polish-Romanian bilateral relations, cooperation within NATO and regional formats, as well as strengthening the eastern flank of the North-Atlantic Treaty and cooperation within the Warsaw Process were the main topics for discussion of minister Czaputowicz with Ion Oprișor, Romanian President’s Advisor on the Security Issues.
“In 2019 we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries, whereas Poland and Romania are also linked by tight bonds of friendship. The basis of such relations are our coincident positions on most important challenges we face in security issues as well as dynamic economic cooperation,” underlined Minister Czaputowicz. He also highlighted that Romania is a reliable ally in NATO and an essential partner for Poland in EU.
Referring to security matters, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz pointed out that Poland and Romania present common threat assessment with respect to regional security. “Our joint cooperation initiative of countries within the Eastern Flank of NATO, the so called Bucharest Nine, is of utmost importance in this context,” said the minister.
Minister Czaputowicz welcomed Romania’s engagement in the Warsaw Process reminding that Bucharest will soon be hosting the meeting of the Working Group on Missile Proliferation.
