Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński visits Israel and Palestine

On 4-7 June, MFA Undersecretary of State Paweł Jabłoński travelled to Israel and Palestine to hold political consultations.
While in Israel, the deputy minister met with Tzachi Hanegbi, head of the National Security Council within the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, MFA Director-General Ronen Levi, and MFA Political Director Aliza Bin Nun. The Polish deputy foreign minister also met with Amit Halevi, the chairman of the newly founded Israeli-Polish Friendship Group in Knesset. The talks provided an opportunity to highlight the good bilateral relationship and analyse the current situation in the region, also in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The next stop in Deputy Minister Jabłoński’s visit was Yad Vashem, where he laid flowers at trees that commemorate the Poles honoured as Righteous Among the Nations. In Jerusalem, he also laid flowers at the Catholic Cemetery on Mount Zion. Together with the director of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance, the deputy head of Polish diplomacy launched the exhibition titled Trails of Hope. The Odyssey of Freedom at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.
During the second part of his visit, Deputy Minister Jabłoński met with Theophilos III, the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, and Tor Wennesland, UN Secretary-General’s Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.
In Palestine, Deputy Minister Jabłoński held political consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met with young Palestinian diplomats who will be soon taking part in training organised by the Diplomatic Academy in Warsaw. He also visited the site of a project carried out as part of the Polish Aid programme.
