Deputy Minister Mularczyk takes part in Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy
17.11.2023
On 17 November 2023, Secretary of State at the Polish MFA Arkadiusz Mularczyk inaugurated the 11th edition of the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy, devoted to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In his address, Deputy Minister Mularczyk noted that today, in many cases, the values set out in the Declaration are violated. He stressed that on the other side of Poland’s eastern border, the Russian troops in Ukraine commit gross and drastic human rights violations and other infringements of international law. The deputy head of Polish diplomacy stated that 75 years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted, its provisions still remain relevant and should be treated as a commitment to further protect human rights all over the world.
The event was attended by numerous representatives of Warsaw’s diplomatic corps, civil society, experts, and students. The key speaker was Mariana Katzarova, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Russian Federation.
The Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy is a cyclical conference, organised since 2012 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with international and local organisations concerned with human rights and democracy, as well as representatives of civil society and the academia.
