11.03.2024
Undersecretary of State Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef took part in a meeting of the Interministerial Team for the UN’s Women, Peace and Security Agenda and the implementation of the 2024–2029 National Action Plan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries and uniformed services involved in the implementation of the Action Plan.
The MFA undersecretary of state emphasised the significance of engaging women in conflict-prevention and peacebuilding measures, especially in the face of new security challenges and in the context of a deteriorating situation in terms of human rights protection worldwide. During the meeting, the deputy head of Polish diplomacy thanked the participants for prior engagement in fulfilling the commitments under the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and hoped that all the ministries and uniformed services will take an active part in promoting the Agenda in Poland and abroad.
The event initiated the work on the next round of the National Action Plan to implement the Agenda for 2024–2029. Also discussed were future priorities of the Plan, including measures to increase women’s engagement in security policy and their proportion in uniformed services, and the promotion of women’s participation in foreign missions and operations. Another important aspect of implementing the Plan consists in acting to protect women and their rights in conflict, especially from violence.
