31.01.2024
The head of Polish diplomacy Radosław Sikorski held talks with his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen, accompanying His Majesty Frederik X, the King of Denmark, during his visit to Poland.
During today’s consultations, the ministers discussed eastern and security policies, including energy security, and bilateral cooperation.
The talks mainly focused on the prospects of multifaceted and long-term support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia and effective sanctions policy within the EU. Both sides agreed that the European Council's session on 1 February will be crucial as it will focus on reaching an agreement on the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027, including the Ukraine Facility. The ministers also referred to the NATO Summit to be held in Washington and hoped that it will be an opportunity to demonstrate the Alliance’s unity and determination to counter Russia’s aggression in any form.
The top Polish and Danish diplomats declared their willingness to enhance political and economic cooperation in the bilateral format, as well as at the fora of regional and international organisations. Notably, both sides have been paying special attention to energy cooperation in the gas and renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind energy.
