Foreign ministers of Poland and Romania hold consultations

Today, the chief of Polish diplomacy visited Romania. The main point of his visit to Bucharest were the political consultations with Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu.

Minister Sikorski met with Romania's foreign minister

The ministers reaffirmed the high importance of bilateral cooperation based on friendship, common values, and mutual respect, which have been the cornerstones of the continued development of the two countries' strategic relationship. They also confirmed Poland’s and Romania’s common stance on the most important issues of international security. The officials also noted the need to strengthen transatlantic relationships.​

Topics discussed included: the bilateral agenda, the EU enlargement to Ukraine, the Western Balkans and Moldova, and the related current activities of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. Minister Sikorski and Minister Hurezeanu agreed that close cooperation between Warsaw and Bucharest on this issue and sharing their own accession experiences with the candidates can produce real effects.

During his visit to Bucharest, Minister Radosław Sikorski also met with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu to discuss bilateral relations and key issues in the international situation.
