International Criminal Court Registrar visits MFA

Deputy Foreign Minister Henryka Mościcka-Dendys has met with Osvaldo Zavala Giler, the Registrar of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, at the MFA headquarters today.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ensuring the security of the Court and its staff and protecting the Court’s independence in the context of its engagement in proceedings involving some of today’s biggest conflicts, including in Ukraine and Palestine. Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys declared that Poland treats the ICC as a central element of international criminal justice and law-based international relations and supports the Court’s efforts in investigating the most serious international crimes.

Based in The Hague, the International Criminal Court is the first ever permanent international court of a universal character, established to try individuals accused of committing the most serious international crimes like genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression.
