Meeting of European Union and League of Arab States foreign ministers
03.02.2019
On Monday, 4 February, the chief of Polish diplomacy will travel to Brussels to attend an EU-League of Arab States ministerial meeting. It is the fifth time the event is organized as part of the EU-League of Arab States dialogue, which was inaugurated in Malta in 2008.
The ministers will discuss cooperation between both organizations, and the key issues of mutual interest, such as migration, terrorism, humanitarian assistance, protection of civilians, and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Minister Jacek Czaputowicz will also take part in a working lunch during which the ministers will discuss multilateralism, regional collaboration, and security challenges facing the Euro-Arab area.
The meeting comes ahead of the first ever summit of EU and League of Arab States heads of state and government that will take place in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh on 24-25 February.
