MFA continues to disseminate and communicate the issue of losses suffered by Poland as a result of German aggression and occupation during WWII

06.06.2023

As part of information efforts initiated by Arkadiusz Mularczyk, MFA’s Secretary of State for European Affairs, Government Plenipotentiary for Compensation for Damage Caused by German Aggression and Occupation in 1939-1945, aimed at spreading knowledge about damage suffered by Poland during World War II and the need to settle Polish-German relations regarding reparations and compensation for pecuniary and non-pecuniary losses, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has created a Twitter profile https://twitter.com/PLreparations.

The Royal Castle in Warsaw 17.09.1939.

A link to this profile has appeared in a special information footer that Polish diplomatic missions will be able to use in their official electronic correspondence.

The MFA recommended that other ministries should also use the information footer with a link to the profile @PLreparations in their contacts with foreign partners, supporting the ongoing efforts to share information on damage caused by German aggression and occupation of Poland in 1939-1945.

The fact that the issue of compensation for material and non-material damage caused by Germany has not been settled by way of an international agreement between Poland and Germany was confirmed by the Resolution no. 51 of the Council of Ministers of 18 April 2023 on the need to settle Polish-German relations regarding the issue of reparations and compensation for pecuniary and non-pecuniary losses suffered by Poland and Poles as a result of Germany’s illegal attack on Poland in 1939 and the subsequent German occupation.
