Minister Jacek Czaputowicz to visit Bratislava
07.06.2019
On 6-8 June, the chief of Polish diplomacy will attend a meeting of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the Republic of Korea foreign ministers, and the GLOBSEC forum, all of which will be hosted by the capital of Slovakia.
It will be the second meeting at this level since the cooperation in the Visegrad Group + Korea format started in 2014. The ministers will sum up the cooperation to date in the areas of trade and investments, research and science, and the common support for the Eastern Partnership projects. Another purpose of the meeting is to discuss the international situation, including security on the Korean Peninsula.
On the sidelines of the Visegrad Group foreign ministers’ debates, Minister Czaputowicz will also hold bilateral meetings with Korean Minister Kang Kyung-wha, UAE’s Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker and EU Chief Negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier.
While visiting Bratislava, the head of Polish MFA will also attend the GLOBSEC conference – a panel on the challenges NATO will face in the coming decade (“NATO at 80”: Alliance Navigating Disrupted Partnerships).
The GLOBSEC (Global Security Forum) conference is a renowned discussion forum in Central Europe, devoted to international security. This year, the talks will focus on security and defence, the future of Europe (also in the context of digitalisation), sustainable development and global economy.
