Minister Radosław Sikorski takes part in meeting of Lech Wałęsa Solidarity Prize Committee

The prize honours individuals or institutions that have made a notable and genuine contribution to introducing, advancing and protecting democracy and civil liberties worldwide.
The Solidarity Prize was established in 2014 and reactivated this year. Its past laureates include Mustafa Dzhemilev (2014), a leader of the Crimean Tatars, and Zhanna Nemtsova (2015), a journalist, social activist, and daughter of the assassinated Russian opposition figure Boris Nemtsov.
Today’s meeting of the Lech Wałęsa Solidarity Prize Committee was attended by Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, Minister of Culture and National Heritage Hanna Wróblewska, President of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights Maciej Nowicki, and President of the Lech Wałęsa Institute Foundation Bogdan Wałęsa. The winner of this year’s edition will be announced and honoured on 18 September this year.
