Minister Rau to attend OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm
01.12.2021
From 1 to 3 December 2021, Poland’s top diplomat Zbigniew Rau will take part in Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
During the meeting, the officials will discuss the current security situation in and around the OSCE region, mainly the ongoing assault on Ukraine, and the developments in Belarus and Afghanistan.
On the sidelines, Minister Zbigniew Rau is going to talk with his counterparts from the Republic of North Macedonia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as to discuss with the OSCE Secretary General and the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly the advancements in Poland’s preparations to take over the Organization’s chairmanship.
The Ministerial Council is the key annual event of the OSCE attended by delegates of its 57 participating states and about a dozen partner states. The Stockholm Council informally marks the end of Sweden’s chairmanship of the OSCE in 2021. Poland is going to take over OSCE’s chairmanship in January 2022.
