Minister Zbigniew Rau to make official visit to Vilnius

Meeting with his counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis will be the main point on the agenda of Minister Zbigniew Rau’s visit to the capital of Lithuania.
Their talks will cover the most important matters of bilateral relations, eastern and regional policy, economic and scientific cooperation as well as national minority issues. The ministers will also discuss security policy and the current situation at the border with Belarus. Moreover, the two foreign ministers will launch the exhibition Poland and Lithuania - together in the name of freedom.
During his visit on Monday, the chief of Polish diplomacy will also meet President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Speaker of the Saimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen and the country’s Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.
Minister Rau will also be visiting Antakalnis Cemetery, Vilnius University and the Centre for Physical Sciences.
The visit will mark the 30th anniversary of re-establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Lithuania. Poland recognised Lithuania’s independence on 26 August 1991 and the two countries re-established diplomatic relations on 5 September 1991.
