Minister Zbigniew Rau to take part in OSCE Mediterranean Conference in Jordan
23.10.2022
Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau will visit Jordan, where as the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, he will take part in the annual OSCE Mediterranean Conference.
This year’s conference, titled “Advancing security and co-operation in the Mediterranean: fostering dialogue with the OSCE Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation”, has been organised by North Macedonia, currently holding the chairmanship of the Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation Group, and is hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Minister Zbigniew Rau will deliver the inaugural address. The event will also be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan Ayman Safadi, and OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid.
The Mediterranean Partnership for Co-operation is one of two OSCE cooperation formats – along with the Asian Partnership – with countries which over the years have developed special relations with the organisation (the Mediterranean Partnership for Co-operation comprises Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia). The group is chaired by North Macedonia, which in 2023 will take over the OSCE chairmanship from Poland.
