Minister Zbigniew Rau to visit Bornholm
11.09.2022
On 12-13 September, the head of Polish diplomacy will take part in bilateral consultations with the minister of foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark.
During the bilateral consultations held on the Danish island of Bornholm, Poland’s and Denmark’s foreign ministers will discuss defence and security cooperation, the situation in Ukraine, and Polish-Danish bilateral relations, including cooperation in energy and green transformation.
The two countries are close partners and allies in NATO and the EU, cooperate actively in the Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin, and participate in the Enhanced Forward Presence on the North Atlantic Alliance’s eastern flank. A key topic under discussion will be the war in Ukraine and its consequences for the European security architecture, including in the Baltic Sea region.
Poland and Denmark continue an active political and economic dialogue. The foreign ministers will talk about prospects for further enhancement of collaboration on renewable energy sources, in the context of the ongoing cooperation between Polish and Danish companies in the development of wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea.
The foreign ministers’ meeting will precede an official inauguration of the Baltic Pipe, a Polish-Danish-Norwegian gas pipeline project, scheduled to take place on 27 September 2022.
