Moldovan Ambassador Iurie Bodrug awarded Bene Merito distinction
14.08.2019
Minister Czaputowicz thanked Ambassador Bodrug for his contribution to promoting Polish-Moldovan relations in the area of politics, the economy, and local government.
Ambassador Iurie Bodrug has been twice posted to a diplomatic role in Poland, the first time as a counsellor in 2003-2006 and, since 2009, as the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Poland. Throughout this period, he has worked to promote Polish-Moldovan cooperation, particularly in the area of contacts between Polish and Moldovan local governments. He initiated the establishment of Moldovan honorary consulates in Poland. His actions made Polish local governments and Polish companies increasingly visible in Moldova.
Established in 2009, the Bene Merito honorary distinction is conferred by the minister of foreign affairs in acknowledgement of services that contribute to strengthening Poland’s status in the international arena.
