Phone call between Minister Jacek Czaputowicz and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Today, the chiefs of Polish and US diplomacy held a phone conversation, during which they summed up the state of current issues in bilateral and multilateral relations.
The US secretary of state thanked Minister Czaputowicz for the excellent cooperation in the substantive and organizational preparation of the Warsaw Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East. The diplomats discussed the implementation of the arrangements adopted at the conference as part of the so-called Warsaw Process, including the prospects of establishing working groups that will address the subjects identified during the meeting. They also referred to the idea of cooperation between Polish and US research institutions as part the Process aimed at supporting the international debate on the Middle East.
They also talked about the issue of strengthening the US presence in Poland. The Ministers expressed their satisfaction with intensive cooperation in this field. Secretary Pompeo confirmed that the US would put forward to Poland specific proposals with regard to its military presence in the nearest future.
Minister Jacek Czaputowicz also thanked his US counterpart for Ambassador Mosbacher’s reaction to the objectionable words of the Israeli Foreign Minister. He also pointed out many voices supporting Poland with regard to the recent developments. The US secretary of state expressed his full support for the negative position of Poland in relation to unfriendly statements made by the Israeli side.
