‎”Poland will remain active on both levels, but it will treat as a priority the bilateral dimension of cooperation as part of the mechanisms of its comprehensive strategic partnership with China,” he added.

‎The meeting of deputy foreign ministers of Poland and China took place in the framework of the 6th round of the Poland-China Strategic Dialogue. The talks focused on bilateral issues and the involvement of Warsaw and Beijing in multilateral cooperation mechanisms. Economic cooperation, including in the agricultural sector, as well as infrastructural, scientific and cultural cooperation were also discussed. “We welcome the productive development of cultural relations with China in recent years. The scale and substantive level of the programme of cultural cooperation demonstrate high, mutual interest in the exchange of cultural and artistic values,” declared the deputy foreign minister.

The deputy ministers also talked about the current international situation, specifically the issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Chinese-US relations, the situation in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia’s policy in the region, and EU-PRC relations.

Deputy Minister Lang emphasized that Poland regards China as a very important partner and referred to the capital of many years of friendly relations, strengthened by the strategic partnership concluded in 2011. The deputy foreign ministers expressed their willingness to further deepen advantageous Polish-Chinese cooperation.

The Strategic Dialogue constitutes one of the mechanisms of Polish-Chinese strategic partnership. Talks at the level of deputy ministers are held alternatively in the two countries – the previous round was held in Beijing in September 2017.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and the People’s Republic of China.
