During his conversation with Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz was pleased to note that Poland and Denmark share the stance on the eastern and security policies. “Denmark is Poland’s important and reliable partner,” underlined the minister. Both countries are engaged in the development of the Eastern Partnership and actively support the reform process in Ukraine. They also share a similar point of view on the security in the Baltic Sea region. Minister Czaputowicz appreciated Denmark’s involvement in the strengthening of security of NATO’s Eastern flank.

The ministers also noted common goals and positions in many areas of European policy. “Ensuring the unity of Member States is fundamental for the future of the EU and its effective operations,” said Minister Jeppe Kofod

The interlocutors agreed on the importance of strong systemic bilateral sectoral cooperation in line with the Joint Communication of 2015. Particularly important to the bilateral relations is the energy cooperation which is expanding rapidly. The Baltic Pipe project is indicative of both sides’ commitment to improve energy security in the Central and Eastern Europe.

Minister Czaputowicz also underlined Poland’s readiness to cooperate in trade and investments with Denmark, Poland’s important economic partner. “I welcome the increase in trade and the growing interest of Danish companies with Polish market,” said the minister. In 2018, Denmark was 17^th export partner and 20^th import partner for Poland. Since 1999, the trading balance has been positive. There are over 600 Danish companies currently operating in Poland.
