The minister communicated his assessment of bilateral relations and our expectations in this field with a view to improving them. He specified issues which will determine our relations in the near future. Most importantly, these include Poland’s compensation claims for losses incurred in World War II and the necessary increase in the German side’s spending on teaching Polish as a mother tongue in Germany as well as the emerging place of remembrance and encounters with Poland in Berlin. Also discussed was the current situation in Ukraine.
