Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz on the peace plan proposal for Israel and Palestine
29.01.2020
I commend the efforts of President Donald Trumps’s administration aimed at resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I took note of the unveiling of the political part of the peace plan. Together with its economic component it constitutes a valuable basis for an in-depth discussion between two parties of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
I hope that such a dialogue takes place shortly and that it will lead to reaching an agreement which would satisfy the legitimate aspirations of both Israel and Palestine, in line with internationally agreed parameters and in respect for the international law. I call upon all engaged partners to constructively analyze the proposed ideas.
Poland, as a member of the European Union, co-founder of the Warsaw Process, as well as a reliable member of the international community stands ready to support the Israeli-Palestinian dialogue.
At the same time we consistently remain of the view that real peace can be achieved only on the basis of voluntary agreement of both parties.
