Deputy Ministers Mościcka-Dendys and Luis M. Cuesta Civís exchanged views on the models of cooperation with diasporas adopted by Poland and Spain, including the aspects of teaching languages abroad and mobilising the national groups. Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys presented the Polish government’s work on its new strategy for cooperation with the Polish community and Poles abroad, which is meant to reflect the natural changes in the Polish diaspora.

With respect to both countries’ ongoing digitalisation of their consular services, the deputy foreign ministers discussed the most important challenges in this area and exchanged good practices, including in the planned technological solutions and digitalisation of consular services. In the light of the growing migratory pressure affecting the two countries, the diplomats agreed that it is necessary to enhance cooperation with the migrants’ countries of origin, especially in the fields of police cooperation and increasing their capabilities to combat human trafficking.

While in Madrid, Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys took part in the annual meeting of the European Council on Foreign Relations, a think-tank founded in 2007 and composed of over 160 eminent members, with former heads of state and top diplomats among them. The deputy head of Polish diplomacy also participated in an official event to mark the end of the 2023–2024 artistic season, organised by the Polish Institute in Madrid.
