Undersecretary of State Marcin Przydacz visited Lithuania on 21-24 August 2019

The agenda of Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz’s visit to Lithuania included attending the “Valdas Adamkus International Conference” on the EU’s future Eastern policy, meeting with the deputy foreign minister of Lithuania and visiting the Mažeikiai oil refinery.
On the first day of his visit, the undersecretary of state took part in the Valdas Adamkus 2019 high-level international conference and attended its side event, “Will Europe Ever Be Whole and Free” panel.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Przydacz underlined that Europe needs to maintain its unity against Russia’s aggressive policy. He also stressed the importance of continuing the reform process in such Eastern Partnership countries as Ukraine or Moldova. “These countries deserve to be supported by Europe, yet the bulk of work rests upon their own shoulders,” said Deputy Minister Przydacz.
Earlier, Polish deputy minister met with his Lithuanian counterpart Darius Skusevičius. The politicians discussed the key topics of political relations, economic and energy cooperation and current security issues in the region. Deputy ministers also attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition on the Union of Lublin. The exhibition is the Lithuanian contribution to the celebration of the Union’s 450th anniversary.
During his visit, Deputy Minister Przydacz also visited Mažeikiai and met with the Orlen Lietuva oil refinery management. He also joined a rally of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association in Lithuania to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the revival of Polish scouting in Lithuania.
