Held on 5 December at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ceremony provided an opportunity to take stock of this year’s economic diplomacy activities.
Deputy Minister Gerwel congratulated Jan Emeryk Rościszewski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to France and this year’s winner of the Amicus Oeconomiae award, and thanked him for his contribution to promoting the Polish economy and supporting Polish business in the French market. Apart from the award, the Foreign Minister’s congratulatory letters went to two heads of Polish missions abroad: Mateusz Gniazdowski, Ambassador to the Czech Republic, and Tomasz Kobzdej, Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.
“Economic diplomacy activities of the Polish mission in France under the Ambassador’s leadership are to be much appreciated,” said the MFA Undersecretary of State. The Polish economy’s potential is becoming increasingly visible, he added, and our products and services are attracting interest of the French partners. According to Deputy Minister Gerwel, Ambassador Rościszewski’s professionalism, commitment to economic diplomacy as well as valuable contacts among the French administration and opinion-makers contribute to building a positive image of Poland and its economy in France. “We have long observed a growing interest from Polish businesses in foreign markets. This makes Poland increasingly visible on the world’s economic map and our competitive position ever stronger,” stressed Deputy Minister Gerwel.
