Celebration of the National Independence Day
Representatives of the Ethiopian authorities, numerous members of local diplomatic corps (including the African Union and the UN), as well as representatives of local Polish community were among approximately 300 guests attending the reception organized by Ambassador Przemysław Bobak.
During the speech Ambassador recalled historical events, which are significant for bilateral relations between Poland and Ethiopia. Regarding current situation in Ethiopia Ambassador highlighted great hope related to the successful peace talks. Additonally, he mentioned contribution within the framework of Polish aid in Ethiopia, being one of priority countries for Polish development cooperation. Ambassador emphasized also the role of young people in shaping bilateral relations, as over 1400 Ethiopians and Ethiopians study in Poland. He expressed that this engagement and cooperation will provide dynamics for further development of economic relations, which potential remains huge. A significant part of the speech was devoted to Russian aggression against Ukraine. Ambassador expressed also his best wishes to the Ukrainian envoy on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom, expressing the hope that the Russian aggressor will be defeated soon.
The guests listened also to the speech delivered by representative of Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
