Single Digital Gateway
The single digital gateway is a platform which facilitates online access to information, administrative procedures, and assistance services that EU citizens and businesses may need in another EU country.
The Orgin
The Single Digital Gateway (SDG) project is created on the basis of the Regulation (EU) 2018/1724 of the European Parliament and the Council dated on the 2 October 2018 on the creation of a single digital gateway to provide access to information, procedures and assistance and problem-solving services, amending the Regulation (EU) No. 1024/2012
SDG is to facilitate online access to information, administrative procedures and assistance services that citizens and businesses may need in another EU Member State. The European Commission, together with national authorities, has developed a network of national web portals that provide citizens and businesses information’s how are the rules applied in each Member State. From December 2020, the part of such information is available as part of the SDG on the "Your Europe" portal. The national websites that participate in the portal, hasn’t been closed, but are marked with the common "Your Europe" logo.
The Polish Ministry of Finance strongly supports the Single Digital Gateway project. On the 14 December 2020,the latest development in SDG project took place on the 14 December 2020, when information on tax matters on podatki.gov.pl,was lauched. podatki.gov.pl became part of the SDG.
Currently, we are working on including on the SDG portal online procedures, which will enable users to settle matters online, without the need to submit documents in paper form.

- Avoidance of unnecessary administrative problems and formalities.
For whom
The portal was developed primarily for EU citizens and their families (including family members from non-EU countries).
EU citizens - or citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway - have certain rights that also apply outside of their country of residence. However, you may find that these rights are not always respected if your country has not yet fully implemented the relevant EU legislation.
What can you find
The advice provided on SDG are for common daily situations such as moving or traveling to another country, staying, studying or working, or shopping abroad. On the other hand, entrepreneurs can also obtain information on conducting business activity abroad.
On podatki.gov.pl, users of SDG will find, among others information on:
- residents, retirees and working people,
- inheritance rights,
- sale and purchase of real estate,
- corporate income tax,
- tax on goods and services,
- excise duty.
