The Clean Air Programme, laptops for teachers, the renovation and construction of nurseries, as well as the insulation of residential buildings and old heating replacement – these are some of the investments for which we have already allocated more than PLN 1 billion in advance funding from the NRP.

Many products and services such as computers, mobile phones, ATMs and e-shopping will need to be accessible to all. Ensuring accessibility will be a new obligation for operators. Such rules are imposed by the law transposing the European Accessibility Act (EAA) into Polish law. This is an EU directive on the accessibility of products and services. At today’s meeting, the Council of Ministers, attended by Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, adopted the bill. It will now go to the parliament.

With the participation of Deputy Minister Jacek Protas, a series of consultation meetings on the draft programme for the development of north-eastern border areas began in Rzeszów. Its aim is to improve the quality of life of residents and boost socio-economic development. All activities will fit in with current development trends while respecting the environment.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has pledged to unblock European funds for Poland. This means nearly PLN 600 billion from the Cohesion Policy and the National Recovery Plan, which will boost the Polish economy and investments. The funds will help accelerate the green and digital transformation in the economy, increasing energy security for people and businesses, innovation and the use of modern technologies, among other things.

The state of implementation of the NRRP and the plan and principles for repayment of the Recovery and Resilience Facility were the main topics discussed at the second meeting of the NRRP Monitoring Committee with the participation of the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, and Deputy Minister Jan Szyszko. Representatives of other ministries, as well as local government officials and social and economic partners, non-governmental organisations and representatives of the academic community were also in attendance.

More than 1,000 calls for proposals and more than 23,000 applications for funding amounting to around PLN 240 billion – this is the state of implementation of national and regional cohesion policy programmes from the 2021-2027 perspective, which was one of the topics discussed today during the 2nd meeting of the Partnership Agreement Committee for 2021-2027.

New directions for cohesion policy after 2027 so that it is adapted to the challenges faced by European regions – this was the topic of an informal meeting of cohesion policy ministers held in Mons, Belgium, with Minister for Development Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz participating.

‘The MFiPR is launching a Winning Family competition for local governments in order to combat inherited poverty. We have PLN 40 million to distribute from the European Funds for Social Development programme, and applications for funding can be submitted until 5 April,’ the Minister for Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, announced today.

We support local governments in meeting accessibility requirements. The Accessible Local Government 2.0 programme is about to be launched. Public services, facilities and spaces at the disposal of LGUs will be made more user-friendly for those with special needs. The signing ceremony was attended by Monika Sikora, Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, and Wiesław Szczepański, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration.

The voivodeships of Eastern Poland – Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Świętokrzyskie and regions of Mazowieckie – will receive PLN 2 billion 379 million for the development of provincial roads from the European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP) programme. The purpose of the investment is to improve road connections in the region and better connect the macro-region with the rest of the country and with the European Union.
