The Bett Show London brings together more than 30,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors from every continent. The conference brings together representatives from education and science, higher education, government institutions and providers of innovative solutions, making the Bett Show a unique opportunity for global experience sharing, inspiration and networking.

The Polish national stand made its first appearance at Bett London in 2023, thanks to the initiative of the Govtech Centre at the Chancellery of The Prime Minister in Poland. The stand was extremely popular both among the youngest children fascinated by innovative ways of learning with technology, and among adults looking for new forms of teaching and developing STEAM competences.

This year we will proudly present the most interesting initiatives in the field of digitalisation of science and higher education in Poland, such as: Standard Anti-Plagiarism System, Digital Certificate of Professional Qualifications, edukacja.gov.pl portal, People of Science portal, as well as the European City of Science initiative - a prestigious title awarded to the city of Katowice in 2024.

The Polish zone will include information on the government programme and the Future Labs. The stand will also be co-created with the Institute of National Remembrance, which will present the game "Aviators" (knowns as "Lotnicy").

The Polish zone will also showcase products from home-grown EdTech companies. More than 20 Polish entrepreneurs will present innovative technological solutions to support science and education, thus promoting our country as a leader in technological solutions for science, higher education and education and establishing valuable business relations.

Standard Anti-Plagiarism System

Standard Anti-Plagiarism System (known as JSA) is a free tool for supervisors of written theses designed to analyse the text for copyright violations. JSA is available at any Polish institution authorised to grant a degree or diploma, and it takes only a few minutes for the system to examine a thesis and generate a report.

JSA is the only anti-plagiarism system integrated with the country's largest databases of written theses and compares the examined theses to almost one billion documents. Defence-approved written engineering, bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses are compulsorily analysed using JSA as early as 2019 (in 2016, the level of use of any plagiarism tools represented only 30-40% of defences). The system allows the specificity of each academic discipline to be taken into account in its analysis and meets "WCAG" requirements.

In response to the dynamic development of AI tools for generating content, a function is being tested in JSA since the end of 2023 to identify pieces of work that may have been generated by artificial intelligence.

Digital certificate of professional qualifications

Digital certificate of professional qualifications is being introduced in Poland from 2023. Every citizen will soon have access to an individual education account where they can electronically access all documents certifying their education and professional qualifications.

Starting in 2026, Polish universities will be obligated to issue diplomas in digital form. A dedicated repository of electronic diplomas will be established, serving not only as a storage space for documents but also as a tool for universities and other academic institutions to issue them. Each digital diploma will bear an electronic seal confirming its authenticity.

Thanks to the new system, when a candidate applies for higher education or a new job, all the necessary documentation confirming education can be uploaded entirely in digital form.

Digital diplomas will result in a reduction of administrative costs for the university, the discontinuation of issuing physical copies of diplomas, and the possibility of maintaining the student's file in a fully digital format.

Edukacja.gov.pl and educational account

In an educational account accessible via the edukacja.gov.pl portal, every Polish citizen will have access to the history of their education, certificates and diplomas obtained and the possibility of generating a certificate of education. The document generated by the portal will be equal to the original certificate or diploma, which will enable universities to conduct admissions completely remotely.

People of Science

Over 90,000 Polish scientists, 32,000 projects and over 11,600 patents. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland is working on the People of Science (known as Ludzie Nauki) database, whose mission will be to bring the Polish scientific community closer and to facilitate cooperation with business.

It’s the first ever such a comprehensive official database on Polish scientists. It includes only information verified by universities and other Polish scientific institutions. These data were so far distributed in various systems - the People of Science portal gathers them on one, intuitively designed platform.

The scientist's profiles on the portal will be created automatically from data available in other systems. This will include information on employment, degrees and titles, achievements and publications. Researchers will be able to enrich their profile, i.e. add a photo, contact details or links to other sites.

People of Science are also expected to perform the role of a nationwide system to make it easier for universities to manage their academic output. The portal will also support processes related to elections for councils and other boards.

Future Labs

Future Labs are the largest ever investment by the Polish government in modern education and science, to which PLN 1.2 billion has been provided. The goal of the initiative is to support schools in building the competencies of the future among pupils in the so-called STEAM fields (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Thanks to the programme, every primary school in Poland has received funding to purchase innovative teaching aids such as 3D printers, microcontrollers, VR goggles, robots, soldering irons and other modern equipment to help develop talents and practical skills. The equipment purchased under the programme is used by 3.2 million students from more than 15,000 local government schools, non-government schools, art schools and Polish schools abroad.
