21.02.2024
On 21 February 2024, representatives of the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography met with a delegation from the Ukrainian authority responsible for surveying and cadastre (State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre).
For two months, Ukrainian civil servants are trained in Poland as part of the Natolin4CapacityBuilding project, including representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. It is financed by EU and organised by the College of Europe in Natolin. The aim of the project is to prepare the Ukrainian administration for future EU accession negotiations.
An important part of this project is to learn about the experience of the Polish administration in the pre-accession period.
During the meeting, GUGiK employees presented topics related to their experience in the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive. In addition, they presented basic information about the tasks of the Surveyor General of Poland and the organizational structure of GUGiK. They also showed a practical way of using www.geoportal.gov.pl service and good practices in the development of Spatial Data Infrastructure in Poland. Polish hosts answered many detailed questions from representatives of Ukraine concerning open data, possibilities of analyses carried out in the National Geoportal, tasks related to land and buildings register and projects in the field of spatial data infrastructure co-financed by the EU - including twinning.
