GUGiK at the EuroSDR workshop „The State-of-the-Art of 3D Mapping at National and Regional Mapping Agencies”
29.01.2025
On 22-23 January 2025, a workshop on the exchange of experiences in 3D modelling of spatial data took place at the National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (IGN) in Paris.
The workshops organized by EuroSDR (European Spatial Data Research) was intended for organizations of European countries responsible for geodesy and cartography. Their aim was to present and compare activities carried out in individual countries concerning the development of three-dimensional spatial data models.
This event brought together nearly 70 participants from National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCAs), research institutions, and industry.
Over the course of the event, 10 NMCAs presented their current 3D mapping initiatives, methodologies, and future plans. These presentations highlighted a variety of topics, including data acquisition techniques, processing workflows, and practical applications of 3D data within national geospatial infrastructures.
Representing the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography, Director of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography Jarosław Somla, presented the current status of work carried out by the office on the development of 3D models of buildings and trees for the area of Poland.
