Dear Colleagues and Friends

It is my great honour and pleasure to welcome you to Krakow for the annual business meeting and the scientific conference of the Working Group on Firearms and Gunshot Residue, acting in the frames of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) on behalf of the Steering Committee of the group as well as of the local organisers from the Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow that is celebrating the 90th Anniversary this autumn.
The ENFSI Firearms and Gunshot Working Group marks 26th meeting this year that demonstrates continuous interest and growing activity of its Members to work together to fight simple and serious crimes. Traditionally, we will have an interesting and topical scientific programme spanning the range of themes related to contemporary challenges in both our fields of interests: firearm and gunshot residue examinations. This will include presentations from a broad international delegation on shooting cases, quality issues, and recent progress in related research and development. I hope that our frequent exhibitors and sponsors as in previous years will come and enrich our meetings bringing in the newest technological solutions for the effective support our everyday forensic work.
Along with the busy programme of the business meeting, the scientific conference and the workshop on current matters we offer you to enjoy the company of colleagues and old friends during an exciting social programme in the heart of the former capital of Poland.
